Russell County Leadership is an intense leadership program aimed at developing emerging community and business leaders in the Russell County Area. A variety of challenges—environmental, economic, and political—are unfolding and will continue to test rural communities. Strong, progressive leaders, with a broad base of knowledge, will be necessary to help steward communities and industries as decisions are made. Russell County Leadership coaches and empowers the next generation of rising stars to lead within rural communities, ensuring a bright and sustainable future. Each class is comprised of 6 to 10 individuals that have demonstrated leadership ability and an appetite for both personal and professional growth.

After decades in hibernation - Russell County Leadership was reignited to build strong, county-wide connections by fostering collaborative partnerships, and engaging directly with residents in every community. Leaders actively participate in local events, community meetings, and outreach programs to ensure they understand the needs and perspectives of diverse groups throughout the county. Creating a unified network that supports shared goals and collective problem-solving, Russell County leadership strengthens relationships, increases transparency, and ensures that community members feel heard, valued, and represented in county initiatives.
